Service Projects

The world needs people who care more for the people in front of them.

Our hope is for everyone to be an everyday hero – to do good for someone else even when life is hard, to continue to help good come from bad. Our hope is to know we are part of something bigger and we are all connected in these threads of life and love.

Be A Hannah Day

Every year on Hannah’s birthday, we honor Hannah’s life by spreading some love and kindness on June 8th. Hannah loved baking cupcakes. With your help, Hannah’s Heroes of NC bakes, decorates, and delivers over 1500 cupcakes across NC to everyday heroes in our community. We spread her smile by thanking someone and sharing a sweet treat with our heroes: teachers, first responders, law enforcement, health care workers, firefighters, faith leaders, and neighbors.

Teacher Appreciation

Educators inspire. Hannah's Heroes of NC lets teachers and staff know how much we appreciate their energy, time and care for our children throughout the year. We've shared cookies and chocolate, supported luncheons, gathered wildflower bouquets, and sponsored school-wide teacher appreciation days across our communities.

Hannah Boxes

Hannah's family knows how impossibly hard it is to say goodbye to your daughter and sister. It's just not supposed to happen-not like that. Every December, Hannah's Heroes gives a grieving family a "Hannah Box" filled with things for the family to do together, thinking of you's, gift cards, and a whole lotta love.  It's our warm hug wrapped in a purple box to let the family know their child is not forgotten and they are not alone.

Veteran's Day Hunts

Hannah loved to cook and bake. She also spent time out in the woods with her family- albeit mainly for the snacks and time with puppies.  On Veteran's Day, Hannah's Heroes of NC supports veterans by cooking breakfast and lunch for them as they enjoy hunting excursions in eastern NC.

Here are ways you can

Be a Hannah with Heart Writing

Honor Your Local Heroes

Honor a first responder by doing something kind for them and telling them “thank you!”

Register to be an Organ Donor

Did you know that one organ donor can save 8 lives? Encourage those around you to register to be an organ and tissue donor.  Hannah's parents were asked the question no parent ever wants to be asked. They chose to give life when there was nothing else left to give. Learn more about how to register at: https://www.donatelifenc.org/

Wear Purple

Wear some purple (Hannah’s favorite color), smile a little bigger, and engage in random acts of kindness as we #BeaHannah.

Paint A Rock

Paint a rock and hide it in a random place for someone to find to brighten their day.

Sew Baby Blankets

Hannah loved to sew. Her favorite project at school was sewing baby blankets for the local hospital. Try sewing something for your local hospital today.

Donate Food

Donate food to a food pantry. Hannah’s favorite was noodles. She loved to cook and bake.
